![]() ![]() On top of Jim Crowness this book begins before Pearl Harbor and ends the next couple days of the attack. It's such a sad journey this man was on to reach his decision and I'm honestly kinda sad we don't see in the long run what happens with his decision. You know this caucasian boy has been friends with these African American kids for years against his whole family's wishes and now in this book he's forced to finally pick a side. if you've never read any books in the series you get a good gist of his background with the Logan family. ![]() I was reminded how brave Mo was even if it wasn't smart lol I understand it. ![]() ![]() a black woman standing up for herself and others to white people was asking for trouble. I have to remind myself anytime Cassie spoke out it was big. I know what it was like during Jim Crow times but to really have this book where I put myself in Cassie's position is something totally different. Reading this book, or listening to it in my case, takes you to another time. It's funny because I've read this a billion times but I forgot the little details of the journey. This is my absolutely favorite book and I love the ability to listen to it as I cleaned. ![]()
